Language
The working language of the conference is English (Russian and English for the memorial session).

Presentations
The conference will consist of oral and poster presentations. An invited review is allocated time within 40 minutes and an oral talk, within 20 minutes. For oral presentations, a multi-media projector will be used. Posters will be provided area of the A0 format. The SOC currently reviews submitted abstracts of presentation; it reserves the right to reject a proposed presentation or to suggest to present a poster instead of an oral talk. At least one of the authors of an accepted oral or poster talk should be present at the conference. By now, the SOC has received about 80 abstracts of oral talks and posters. The submitted abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book prior to the conference. The preliminary program of the conference will be posted on the conference site on September 15.

Registration and Agenda

The preliminary registration is now over. About 90 participants have registered so far. Besides the 13 invited talks, about 40 oral contributions have been suggested. It is planned to schedule the invited talks to plenary sessions and the contributed oral talks, to one of the two sections working simultaneously. The preliminary schedule of the sessions will be presented in the 3rd Announcements. The abstracts submitted by August 1 will be published in the conference abstract book prior to the conference. Please send your abstracts to VS-Halo@sai.msu.ru. Those who wish to attend the conference but not registered during the preliminary registration may still register at the conference web site.

Registration fee and Financial Support

The registration fee, covering expenses for publication of abstracts and proceedings, transportation from Moscow (Sternberg Institute) to Zvenigorod and back on the first and last days of the conference, conference overhead, coffee breaks, etc. will be Rbl 1200. As a form of participation support, we will be able to reduce the conference fee for some of the participants. Thus, the registration fee for invited speakers will be Rbl 600. The registration fee does not cover travel expenses to Moscow and back, accommodation, meals, or other personal expenses of the participants. The accompanying person registration fee will be Rbl 400. All registration fees will be collected cash at the final registration at the conference desk.

Cultural program
Guided tours of Moscow and around Zvenigorod (including a tour of the ancient Savvo-Storozhevski monastery) will be arranged for conference participants. Movies are shown every night for those wishing to attend, for a low entrance fee.

Internet
Wi-Fi Internet will be provided free of charge in the main halls of the health hotel.

Arrival and departure

It is expected that most participants will arrive on Sunday, October 11. Participants arriving to Moscow on that day are asked to come to Sternberg Astronomical Institute (SAI), located in the campus of Moscow University (address: 13, University Avenue, close to the corner of Vernadsky Avenue). The registration desk for final registration will work at the SAI during the day. Approximately at 5 pm, a bus to the Zvenigorod Health Hotel will start from the SAI.
Participants planning to arrive to Moscow earlier than October 11 as well as those wishing to stay in Moscow after October 17 are requested to inform the LOC about their plans in advance (if you have not done it yet). They may book rooms in Moscow hotels by themselves using Internet or ask the LOC to help them with booking. It is possible to arrange a stay in the hotel rooms of the University dormitory, in the main building of the University. Rooms in the dormitory are in two-room blocks with shower and bathroom, they are rather modest but have everything needed for a short stay. The prices in the dormitory are US $25–30 per night.

As soon as you book your air or train tickets, please let the LOC know the arrival date, time, and flight or train number. THE LOC IS PLANNING TO MEET SEVERAL PLANES IN MOSCOW AIRPORTS We will send you an e-mail confirmation if we plan to meet your flight. If the circumstances of your arrival do not permit the LOC to meet the flight or if, for any reason, you do not find the LOC representatives meeting you in the airport, proceed according to the instructions concerning transportation from Moscow airports to the Sternberg Astronomical Institute given on the "Location" page.
